Selection coefficient
s= selection coefficent
pq = genetic variation (allele frequencies)
as the overall genetic variation increases, the delta p also increases
though, as the individual p allele increases, there is no pattern to be saw
s= selection coefficent
pq = genetic variation (allele frequencies)
My definitions of SPQ and Delta P are as follows:
ReplyDeleteS = selection coefficient
Delta P = change in allele frequency or Delta P = S*(PQ)
P = frequency of allele
Q = frequency of 1-p
Our definitions were pretty much the same with the exception of Q and and Delta P but I think overall we definitely agree.
My definitions were this:
ReplyDeleteS is the selection coefficient is related to the fitness or adaptive value of a given genotype
Q can be defined as the frequency of (1-P).
P can be defined as the frequency of the specific alleles.
A correlation to be spotted is that as the genetic variation continues to increase, the overall Delta P does also increase.
Overall I think we had the same understanding of them!!! Great job :))))))
